Feeling Elizabethan

in Color Pencils, Pen & Ink

elizabethanThis morning I tuned in to HBO. The movie ‘Elizabeth: Golden Age’ was on. I didn’t pay much attention to the storyline, but the costumes and jewelry were pretty darn fantastic.

Feeling inspired, I took out my Derwent Coloursoft pencils and proceeded to do a rough sketch of an Elizabethan portrait. I think I went a little crazy scribbling the curly hive hairdo. As an afterthought, I took out my fountain pen to do a little pen work on the sketch.

Derwent coloursoft pencils (Lincoln Green and Ginger) and Lamy Al-Star EF fountain pen (filled with Noodler’s Eternal Brown ink) on 9″x12″ Cachet sketchbook.
